This course covers all the requirements, for the below units of competency using a contextualised assessment method, and real life scenarios.

CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work.  The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self or others.

The course runs for approximately 4.5hrs (depending on the number of participants).

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.  This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to persons in line with the first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council.

MSM Permit Cluster

These units of competency cover the skills and knowledge required to work with an issued permit and to observe permit work.  The people that this course may be required for are 'permit recipients' or 'permit holders' by some industries.  These units of competency apply to persons who are required to conduct work activities under the authority of an issued permit to work and within the requirements of that permit.

MSMSUP205 Transfer Loads

This unit of competency relates to the skills and knowledge required to move loads using cranes and gantries.  It applies to all operators who will be required to plan and apply the correct methods to secure and move the loads safely without damage to the load, personnel or equipment.

Before undertaking this unit with Queensland Training and Development, relevant experience in Perform Dogging or a high risk work license, will be required.

MSMWHS217 Gas Test Atmospheres

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to test the working atmosphere, using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it safe for the proposed work.  It applies to situations where an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or workspace.  It is suitable for use, but not limited to, the following situations:
- Confined Spaces
- Hot Work
- Testing as part of issuing a work permit
- Holding the gas tester by hand

PUAEME008 Provide pain management

This unit of competency covers the knowledge and skills that are required to administer restricted analgesics to provide pain management as part of a medically supervised first responder organisation.  This unit is applicable for personnel from emergency services, volunteer organisations or organisations that provide a medically supervised first aid service.

RIIHAN201E Operate a Forklift

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift to shift, lift, transfer and place loads.  It includes using forklift attachments safely and effectively.  This unit applies to those working in site-based roles.
The work required in this unit relates to, but does NOT provide a High Risk Work licence.

RIIRIS201E Conduct local risk control

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct lock risk in the resources and infrastructure industries.
It applies to those working in operational roles.  

RIIRIS402E Carry out the risk management process

This unit replaces RIIRIS402D Carry out the risk management process.  It includes the knowledge and skills required to carry out risk management processes including; planning, identifying hazards, assessing risk and developing and implementing risk control.
Those working in supervisory roles and overseeing and auditing the risk assessment process, may find this unit applicable.

It is beneficial to hold RIIRIS301E, RIIWHS301E & RIICOM301E prior to completing this course.

RIISAM202E Isolate and access plant

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to isolate and access plant in the resources and infrastructure industries.
It applies to those working in operational roles who undertaken work such as determining coordination requirements of isolating plants, dealing with energy sources and immobilisation of potential energy sources.
Lock and tag procedures, permits and returning plant to service.

This course is run over a duration of one day, but duration may differ depending on numbers in the course as well as previous experience and knowledge of the participants.
 

RIISAM301F Test operational functions of vehicles and equipment

This unit describes a participant's skills and knowledge required to test operational functions of vehicles and equipment in the coal mining, extractive and metalliferous mining sectors.  This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles.

This course is beneficial for those working in operational roles, that require the operation of light vehicles on a worksite.  This course also includes a defensive driving component.

This combined course includes criteria out of both RIIVEH201E Operate light vehicle and RIIVEH305F Operate and maintain four wheel drive vehicles.  These units apply to those working in operational roles across numerous industries, including mining, civil construction, drilling, and infrastructure.

This unit applies to those personnel working in operational roles.  This unit covers the skills and knowledge that a person requires to operate a medium vehicle in the resources and infrastructure industries.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain a four wheel drive vehicle in the resources and infrastructure industries.  It applies to those working in supervisory and technical specialist roles within the mining, civil, infrastructure and resources industries.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to enter and work in confined spaces in the resources and infrastructure industries.  It applies to those working in operational roles where they are required to enter or work around confined spaces.

This course is structured to suit the needs of personnel required to work at heights and enter and work in confined spaces.  This course combines the unit of competency criteria, of both RIIWHS202E and RIIWHS204E, and is run in conjunction with each other.
These units of competency are applicable to those working in operational roles, within the Mining, Construction and Infrastructure Industries.

RIIWHS401E Supervise work in confined space

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to supervise work in confined spaces in the resources and infrastructure industries.  It applies to those working in Supervisory roles that are generally responsible for the output of others, contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems and apply management plans to the workplace.

Standard 11 Surface Induction Skill Set - this skill set of 6 x mandatory units of competency is designed to introduce new and existing mine workers to the induction requirements of recognised Standard 11 in the Coal Mining Resource Sector for the purpose of maintaining a standard of safety.  Theory will be conducted in the classroom with the student required to complete a Worksite Verification Booklet onsite prior to their Statement of Attainment being issued.

This unit of competency covers the knowledge and skills required to enter the rail corridor.  It includes taking appropriate safety precautions to:

UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live LV panel & HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live LV Panel covers the performance of rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace.  It specifies that mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions.
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Pre-Requisite units apply - need to be able to produce your Electrical Licence or complete Pre-Req Unit

AVI30519 Certificate III in Aviation (Rescue Crew Officer)

Certificate II in Medical Service First Response

This qualification reflects the role of first medical response workers or volunteers who provide initial care to patients.  These people provide basic first aid and emergency responses in the pre-hospital/out-of hospital environment.

Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue

This qualification reflects the role of emergency response and rescue team members working in the resources and infrastructure industries, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a wide variety of contexts, which involve some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

Certificate III in Pathology Collection

This qualification reflects the role of pathology collectors.  Workers in this role follow known routines and procedures, taking responsibility for their own work under general supervision.  They combine communication, customer service and technical skills, and use discretion and judgement to adapt and transfer their skills to different situations.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 35 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.

Certificate III in Resource Processing

This qualification reflects the role of employees such as production operators in a metalliferous processing facility or a coal preparation and treatment plant, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.
